Please noted the purpose of business is to make every party happy, so be patient to your customer and explain in more detail his extra requirement means something or some costup for his best choice.
if it is the understanding issue between you and customer that caused the delivery problem i.e wrong goods, short goods , your company or your boss may bear the responsibility to change the right goods to your customer.
Once your customers feel that you are very honest and trustful, they may also understand your situation.
One most important thing is to clarify clearly the specification and critical business terms such as price, shipping term, delivery time before fulfillment of order , or else trouble will occur any time. so do the right thing firstly , then do the thing in right way.
